Vivark delivers flexible fit out so Liverpool cancer support centre’s vital services can continue
Liverpool based facilities management company and social enterprise, Vivark, has delivered a programme of redecoration and maintenance at Lyndale Knowsley Cancer Support Centre in Huyton.
Vivark, part of the First Ark Group, provided its expert services without affecting the centre’s day-to-day running so it could continue its delivery of vital support for cancer patients and their loved ones.
The company undertook this work for Lyndale, the Group’s charity of the year, as part of its aim to create social impact within the Liverpool City Region, providing improved facilities and new opportunities for residents wherever possible. The refurbishment activity, which was conducted over a two week period, included painting, decorating, plumbing and joinery works and has an estimated value of £4,000.
Tony Cahill, executive director at Vivark, said: “When we received the brief through from Lyndale, we knew this was a project the whole team would want to get behind. The sensitive nature of Lyndale’s work required a flexible approach paired with a rigorous attitude to health and safety, which I’m thrilled to say was matched and exceeded by our professional team. A tailored programme of redecoration and maintenance was efficiently and effectively provided with minimal disruption to the staff and visitors.
“Assisting a centre which offers such support for Knowsley residents helps us fulfil our social impact pledge, which includes making a positive difference for those living in the communities in which we operate. Many of us turn to services like Lyndale in times of need and it’s incredibly important that they have trusted suppliers like Vivark to help them out too.”
Thelma Smith, treasurer and trustee at Lyndale Knowsley Cancer Support Centre, said: “The work completed was fantastic and the centre has a complete new lease of life. The Vivark workers were professional, thorough with health and safety procedures and the standard of work was exceptional. They were so flexible and worked around the needs of our clients, which is really important with improvement works and repairs.”
Lyndale Knowsley Cancer Support Centre provides support to cancer patients, carers and their families in a relaxed atmosphere and is managed entirely by volunteers. The support is provided via a variety of sessions, running alongside an information library, complementary therapies and other activities and social events.
